I'm Negin Vatandoost. I built Vatan Law because I wanted to practice law the way I wish more lawyers had practiced it for the people I've watched navigate the system: with clarity, honesty, and real attention.

Before I was called to the Ontario Bar, I practiced law in Iran, where I built my early litigation experience across a range of matters. In Canada, I earned my LL.M. in Canadian common law at Osgoode Hall, completed the Law Practice Program, and articled with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Practising in two very different legal systems has shaped how I work: I know what it's like to rebuild a career from the ground up, and I don't take for granted how disorienting the legal system can feel from the outside.

For nearly a decade, I've also worked inside the Ontario Government leading strategic and policy initiatives that has taken me deep into gender equity, intimate partner violence, and family law reform, often at the intersection of policy and the real people it affects. It's given me a vantage point most lawyers don't have: I've seen how law gets made, not just how it gets applied.

Vatan Law is where all of that comes together. I built this practice to be direct, prepared, and genuinely personal, because when your family, your future, or your ability to stay in this country is on the line, you deserve a lawyer who treats it that way.
